A song to Nokia (really bad!)

Sorry everybody, but I couldn’t resist 🙂 P.S. The song is adapted from Livin’ On A Prayer by Bon Jovi. Also it is really very bad!

Sung to Livin’ On A Prayer by Bon Jovi

Once upon a time

Not so long ago

Nokia used to own the market

Except for RIM

But we don’t talk about them, about them

They are trying to enter a new market

Making the OS for their handsets

Not well – Not well

They need to hold on to what they’ve got

‘Cause it doesn’t make a deference if they make it or not!

They’ve still got Symbian and that’s a lot

FTW – FTW although, I’ll still give Meego a shot

It’s half way there

You’re livin’ on a prayer

Take Androids hand and you’ll make it I swear

You’re livin’ on a prayer

livin’ on a prayer

Tutorial: Interactive Periodic Table Background!

Ok, this is a quick (but fun) tutorial to setup your background as a interactive Periodic table. Recently, I came across a program called Devil’s Pie which allows you to code rules for making windows behave a certain way. Seeing as I recently started my science GCSE class I thought it would be cool to have a useful Periodic table background

Firefox 4, My Impressions (or should that be turnabout)

Ok, the other day I downloaded Firefox 4 Beta to take it for a spin. I’ve been a Chrome/ium user for a while now and wondered if Firefox could win me over. My overall answer was no. While it is much improved it still needs allot more work, I think this because:-

Wiimote fun & Elementary

Ok, this is a must do if you have a Bluetooth adaptor, a Wiimote and a few spare moments. By following this tutorial (if you use Ubuntu or its derivatives, like Linux Mint) you can have it set up in a few moments! In other new I’ve decided to use the Elementary theme (Easy install instructions here). So far I find it’s fantastic! It looks good and has features like Gloobus Previews, which I find quite helpful. I’ve moded it a bit (screenshots and possibly a vid coming soon) and I’m thinking of changing to Elementary OS when it’s released! BTW sorry for the infrequent posts, I have been spending too much time playing LoZ!

Firefox V Chrome

Recently I’ve considered a change of web browser. I’ve been using Firefox since I was about 6 or 7 with Firefox 1, however recently I’ve been quite discontent with it recently what with crashes, bookmarks corrupted and slow(ish) loading times. As I’m a Linux user and have a brain IE, was out of the question, I disagree with opera over privacy (opera unite is just a ticking time bomb). So the only option left was Chrome, I went for the open source version Chromium. As I found it quite hard to choose between Firefox & Chrome I decided to write a comparison between the two, which was not done with fresh installs. All of the tests are done on my laptop with Ubuntu Lucid Lynx, each browser has multiple bookmarks, plugins and extensions. I’m also going to write about how it imports your existing data, etc.

What a week!

This week I’ve had exams (well strictly speaking they where from Wednesday onwards to Friday), which has made it hard to blog. Then to celebrate my exams being over (and the fact I had a half-term holiday!) I went away to Brecon for a few days (already Twitpiced one shot). I had quite enjoyed myself up until the Monday (actually I found out on Tuesday night). My MP4 player – a Sumvision ICE 2000 – had somehow managed to get a large crack in its touch-screen, and to make it worse I only got it in April!

My poor MP4 Player

"It ain't broke, but you can see the cracks"
